‘Mastering Golf Basics’ never goes ‘Out Of Fashion’. This very important ‘Putting & Chipping Stage One Procedure’ (No Wrist Cock and No Pivot) is the foundation of your entire golf bag, Putter to Driver. (see ‘555 Progressive Golf’) The first 8 to 12 inches of your Putting Stroke is that same as the first 8 to 12 inches of your Driver. The premise of this bold statement rests on the necessity and benefit of ‘Quiet Lever Triangles’ (Wrists, Elbows and Shoulder Sockets) which enable stability through the ‘Impact & Separation Sequence’. Our ‘Set-Up’ is primary and must be immaculately and repeatedly established.
Two considerations are 1) Putting On A Flat and Straight Railway Track and 2) Putting with the toe of you Putter Head in contact with a perfectly straight 48 inch 2X4 during the Back and Front Swings. (see ‘Chase Follow & Finish’)
A rather natural ‘Clubface Face & Clubhead Path Mechanical Evolution’ is to ‘Back Swing Sweep Inside Opening The Face’, being Square through the very small ‘Impact & Separation Zone’ while ending with an ‘Inside and Closed Front Swing Configuration’. Our longer and fuller swings evolve in this manner. Can we benefit partially from NOT utilizing this variable ‘Noisy, Not Quiet Lever Triangles’ process … mentioned above? Be aware that ‘Stage Three’ has more ‘Lever and Lower Body Machine Activity’.
Our ‘555 Golf Set-Up’ beneficially involves ‘Impact Fix’. This manifests a Square Clubface Aim and a ‘Flat Target Wrist Hinge’. A little ‘Forward Press’ is beneficial. The ‘Up & Down Brace Shoulder’ is the Putting & Chipping Engine’. A tangible benefit is also to ‘Steer The Target Elbow’ towards the Target so you can clear your ‘Delivery Package’. Observe your ‘Clubhead and Brace Thumb’ during the Back and Up and Down & Out Swings. These two Components will be quite predictably ‘On Body and Target Line’. Remember your ‘15 Inch Intermediate Target’. This discipline will stabilize your ‘Target Line Path’.
If you can think or spell ‘The Yips’, this discussion shall go a long way towards resolving that horrible ‘Lever Assembly’ malady!
