‘555 Golf POWER TIPS’ are generally limited to one page … short & sweet … Good Luck!
1) Practise With A Written Plan and follow or accomplish it
2) Get your camera position 3 Dimensionally correct … Body On wrist high and square … Down The Line Forearm Centered Height and Parallel Left, Get this right or don’t use it!
3) Use your Ground Sticks … Target Line and Body Line (see ‘Railway Tracks’)
4) Inadequate or no Pre-Shot Routine (PSR) Don’t go “Freeway To Fairway”
5) Do a ‘Post-Shot Routine’! Learn from your past!
6) Stretch Warm-Ups … thorough and progressive … avoid twinges and tweaks
7) Be aware of both your Lower and Upper Body Machines (see ‘Slow Motion Drills’)
8) Work Up & Down your bag … odd and even clubs … #PW, #8 Iron, #6 Iron to Fairway metals, Driver and return odd numbers … #5, #7, #9 and wedges.
9) Improper Body and Target Alignment
10) Faulty Clubface Aim (‘No Flippy Handedness’)
11) Sweeping Take-Away On Path and Plane. Do not overswing!
12) Imbalanced Tempo (C/F Aim) and sloppy Timing (Component Sequencing)
13) Rough and Faulty ‘Transition’ (No “&” Word)(Too Quick – Early and Late)
14) Avoid that ‘Favourite Club Syndrome’. Don’t leave your least favourite to last!
15) Never hit more than 5 or 10 of any one club … The Full Large Bucket Of Drivers error is Fratricide or Homicide! Absolutely counterproductive!
16) Finish Your Session with the Wedges and Putter … not the Driver
17) Replicate On Course Situations (Roll Play full holes – Par 3s to Par 5s)
18) Work on Mental Mechanical balance and agility
19) Work actively on your ‘Weak Links’ … Make big numbers smaller!
20) Avoid That “Lingering Memory”! (see ‘Instant Amnesia’!) Every strike is a new ‘Lease On Golf Life’! Be a ‘Squatter’ and take possession of the property and occasion. If you hit your ball in the creek yesterday, embrace that truth and reality! Any day on course is usually better than an average day at work!
21) Pick and enjoy good golfing buddies! Avoid taking all their advice!
But regularly take some of their money … Gratiously and Reverently!
