Here is a sharing of dialogue in a recent ‘Mastering Golf Basics Clinic’.
“What causes or creates the ‘Draw Hook Ball Flight?” We know that this is a ‘High-Energy event? How do we create and control this ‘Energy Level’? Here are the conditions: 1) Inside-Out Clubhead Path. 2) Fast Hands (strong Grip) causing a ‘Closing Clubface Aim Through the Impact & Separation Zone’. 3) Draw-Hook Side-Spin Rate. (see ‘Bernoulli’s Theorem’) 4) A Square or even slightly closed ‘Target Foot Stance’ which obstructs ‘Target Hip Release’ (see ‘Lower Body Machine – LBM’). This obstruction causes the ‘Brace Hand’ to become relatively more active and dominant than the ‘Pivot Engine’. ‘The Brace Lever Assembly Outruns The Clearing and Driving Hip Assembly’. (see ‘Brace Leg Drive’)(see ‘Arms Over Legs’)
The ‘Fade Slice Ball Flight’ is the ‘Flip-Side’ of its sibling described above. It is a ‘Lower Energy Event’. Its elements are 1) Outside-In Clubhead Path. 2) Slow Hands (weak Grip) enabling an ‘Open Clubface Aim during Impact & Separation’. 3) Fade Slice Side-Spin Rate. 4) Dynamically ‘Leading Hip Axis’, which accomplishes a ‘Lagging Lever Assembly’, hence ‘No Draw-Hook Spin Rate’. An ‘Open or Significantly Flared Target Toe’ is an asset not known by many a frustrated ‘Draw-Hook golfer. A Square Square Stance is a golf curse!
A highly useful and additional effective element is ‘The Intermediate Target’ (I/T … 15 inches in front of the ball) Swinging through this point in time and space is highly beneficial.
