Shooting of the floor with forward movement is pretty well understood. Likewise, making ‘Free Throws’ is no mystery! It is dynamically and abruptly muscular! Somewhat injury prone?
Without a lot of minutia, the basketball player must ‘Load The Lower Body Machine’ (Big Core Muscles) to generate the power and lift necessary to propel the basketball a blend of vertical and horizontal. The well-known squat move applies to the golf swing as well.
To create the power or energy level necessary to hit golf balls prodigious distances under ‘Ball Flight Control’ demands some of this ‘Hoop Squat & Leg Drive’. (Big Muscles On Board)
If you make a properly ‘Set-Up Golf Procedure’, you shall have adequate ‘Knee Flex’ and ‘Core Angles’ to accomplish ‘Power Delivery & Release’. (see ‘Forward Inclination & Aft Tilt)
To learn about the ‘Minutia’ make several ‘Slow Motion Back & Up Swings’. At the ‘Top Of Back Swing’ (TOB), during ‘Load Coil’, you shall feel a subtle ‘Sit-Down’ and ‘Leg-Load’. After the ‘Transition’, you shall naturally accomplish ‘Target-ward Rotation’ through the ‘Impact & Separation Zone’. Through this ‘Delivery & Release Phase’ into the ‘Chase, Follow & Finish’ (Swing Sequence #9 and #10 – Top Of Front Swing – TOF) one shall feel ‘Vertical Leg Drive’ while the ‘Target Hip’ moves ‘Aft & Up’.
This ‘Vertical & Horizontal Combination’ is very much part of the ‘Lower Body Machine’ (see ‘The Carousel Work Horse’ and ‘Ferris Wheel’ combining to make a ‘Tilt-A-Whirl’)
Where do we get our ‘Power Pay-Back’? Out of ‘Mother Nature’s Ground’. (highly dynamic stage)
Does this mean that there is some allowance for ‘Vertical Head Movement’ during the ‘Back and Front Swings’? YES! If you draw the ‘Horizontal Impact Fix Line’ across the top of your head at Swing Sequence #1, SS #5 (TOB) SS #8 (Impact Zone) and finally at the Top Of Front Swing SS #10 and or SS #11 [Bounce Back], you shall easily observe the very subtly useful ‘Vertical’ motion.
There may even be a ‘LITTLE’ useful ‘Lateral Movement’. (see ‘Sway & Slide’) Golf does not like ‘Locked In Place’ … ‘Rigidity In Space’!
