CHECK POINTS vs. SWING GATES
It is the learned opinion of your ‘555 Team’ that we tend to embrace more ‘Swing Mechanics Than Necessary’. You can certainly disagree! We know that having too many motion items on our Frontal and Active Mind is seldom a good affliction. There is a whole lot going on between our ears in that total 1.5 second ‘Dynamic or Motion Interval’, so much so that one could become infected with a ‘Sports Disease’ known as ‘Cranialgranititis’!
Going through our full and very effective ‘Pre-Shot Routine’ (PSR) includes an important ‘Static or Passive’ library. No need to hurry that segment. Control your ‘Breathing’ (DDB – ‘Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing’) As you know, during our ‘Sweeping, Back Swing, Take-Away Trigger’ (Turning Back & Up Swing) we utilize ‘Check Points’ such as ‘Swing Sequence #3’ when the shaft becomes horizontal to the ground. ‘Swing Sequence #4’ is when the extended Target Lever’ becomes horizontal. ‘Swing Sequence #5 is ‘The Top Of Back & Up Swing. (where you say your “& Word”) ‘Transition’ takes place during SS #5. Remember, it is a ‘Gravitational Dropping Segment’. These ‘Back & Up Swing Segments’ repeat in the opposite physicality as in the ‘Down Out Forward & Through’ phase. (see ‘DOFT’)
Swing Sequence #7 is the ‘Pre-Impact Segment’ followed by the ‘Impact and Separation Zone’. (see SS #8) This is often properly referred to as the ‘Release Zone’. (see ‘Chase Follow & Finish Segment’ – SS #8a, #9 and #10. #11 is called the Bounce Back Segment) It is noteworthy to be aware of the mechanical reality that the ‘Front Swing Low Point and Divot’ is ‘After The Ball Has Departed’. Remember the ‘Clubhead Dynamics’ is properly described as ‘Down Out Forward & Through’. (DOFT) One is well-served feeling as though the strike is ‘A Push & Punch Basic Procedure’. Many challenged golfers fall prey to ‘Pulling The Ball’ to the high energy side of the Target Line. Not a rewarding place to be! (see ‘C/H Path & Swing Plane’)
Might we suggest that you look upon these ‘AT-itis Check Points (SS #8a that crosses the ‘15 Inch Intermediate Target’) as ‘Swing Gates’? This is a good ‘Dynamic Vocabulary’ that implies ‘THROUGH-itis’ which invites highly productive ‘Release’! The golf smash or finesse strikes are more about letting go than holding on! You know that?
