Over decades, this ‘Great Game’ constantly stimulates our minds about science and physics and very often aspects of religion. Sometimes faith seems to be golf’s only plausible strategy!
Think of your ‘Set-Up configuration … ‘The Alignment Railway Tracks’ specifically. Pull any club and make some ‘Tick Tock’ warm-up swings. Once actually warmed-up, Sweep, Turn and Lift to your ‘Top Of Back Swing’ (Swing Sequence #5), Finish & Hold’.
Focus on your ‘Body Alignment Rail’, more specifically think of your ‘Shoulder Axis’. It is ‘The Keystone Axis’ especially due to its proximity linearly via the ‘Lever Assemblies’ to your Hands and thus to your ‘Clubhead’. A point? The ‘Shoulder Axis is closer than is your ‘Hip Axis’. Think that is due to the fact that your ‘Hands’ are very close to you ‘Hips’ at both ‘Set-Up (Swing Sequence #1) and through ‘The Impact & Separation Zone’. (Swing Sequence #8 & #9)
At SS #1 and SS #8 & #9, your ‘Hands’ are definitely in front of your Hips & Shoulders Axes. Generally, with some individual variation, at the TOB (SS #5) and at the Top Of Front Swing (SS #10 & 11), your ‘Hands’ are still in front of your Shoulder and Hip Axes. ‘Time For A Finish & Hold Feel’! Small variations, conscious and subconscious to the ‘Vanilla Action’, include being ‘Laid Off’ or ‘Shallowed Out’. Key question is whether these are ‘On or Off Plane’, natural or unnatural, necessary or unnecessary. Always avoid manipulation!
An important observation is the location of the Brace Elbow through ‘The Impact & Separation Zone’. Ideal configuration is Brace Elbow, Hip and Knee’s being ‘In Line’. (see ‘Connected’)
If you are ‘On Plane’, any such conscious ‘Planar Actions’ (Laid Off or Shallowed Out) are really a ‘Swing Error’ that invites ‘Ball Flight Shape Issues’. Both of the above artificial conditions invite ‘Flat Plane’, a varied ‘Clubhead Path’ and ‘X Axis Spin Rate’. (Curvature)
The simplest swings are the best and most easily repeatable actions!
