When I go hiking in the wilderness, a wonderful activity, I always use a ‘Walking Stick’, professionally bought or cut out of the bush. The professional model is very much like a ‘Ski Pole’. What is a walking stick for? It is a bit like a safety crutch? It helps me keep or regain my balance when lost! Keeps me on my feet and moving forward one step at a time!
How does this apply to golf exercises? Set a Short Iron or Wedge on its head, grip up! Rest your Target Hand on top of the handle when you are establishing your ‘Stance Width & Aim’.
Now, with your Brace Hand lower than your Target Lever (about 6 to 8 inches), swing your ‘Brace Hand and Lever Assembly’ back & up, (say your “&” word) followed by the reflexive down & out swing. The Brace Hand will easily pass under the Target Lever.
This set-up with the ‘Walking Stick’ forces our Brace Hand’s getting lower and thus more ‘Inside-Out’. Feel a bit of a ‘Push Delivery’. This invites an ‘On Plane Club Shaft’ behaviour.
A ‘Work Smart’ reality? That ‘Casting Swing Error’, which plagues millions of golfers, is an undesirable ‘Outside-In Path’. (see ‘Over The Top Swing Plane Error’) Now you can fix it!
We must get lower into the ‘Swing Delivery Path’ … working the bottom half of the swing circle. Remember, the Clubhead only moves forward, towards the Target, in the ‘Bottom Half Of The Swing Circle’! No point stepping on the accelerator above ‘Club Shaft Horizontal’. (SS #7)
Swing Sequence #7 is your ‘Pre-Impact’ position. Think of ‘Casting’ as “Early Throttle”!
Big ‘Pulls, Cuts’ and Pull Cuts’ stink! Now you can easily fix or improve these nasty golf critters with your ‘Bullet-Proof Walking Stick Skill Drill’! More power to you! Well done!
Enjoy Never Giving Up!
