Baseline facts: 1) Putting and small Chipping are Stage 1 Procedures (No Wrist Cock and No Pivot), 2) As we increase our ‘Swing Length’ (Range Of Motion), Wrist Cock is naturally induced. (see Stage 2 Procedure) 3) As we increase our ‘Brace Hand Travel Distance’ (BHTD) (see ‘Balsa Airplane Concept’ – winding up ‘The Big Body Rubber Band’) we create ‘Pivot or Lower Body Machine Coiling’. (see ‘LBM – Potential Energy Storage’)(see Stage 3 Procedure’) When we fire our ‘Balsa Airplane or Golf Body Machine’, we convert this ‘Potential Energy’ into ‘Kinetic Energy’ making golf balls go far away in straight lines … hopefully!
Here are the two ‘Primary Lower Body Machine Set-Up Tasks for YOU.
1) Forward Inclination of the Spinal Axis … tilting our core forward towards the Target Line while adding some athletic Knee Flex and more. (PAJ – Primary Articulating Joints) This rather subtle ‘Plunking Move’ (see ‘Sit Down’ and sticking out of your rear end) gets us ready to go to work. It moves weight more towards the toes (mobile) and less from the heels. (immobile)
2) Aft or Side Tilting of the Spinal Axis. Importantly, one does not accomplish this adjustment primarily by moving the Head to the Brace Side, but by shifting the Target Hip Socket slightly Target-ward. It is sometimes referred to as ‘Target Hip Slide or Shift’. The net result of this position is the ‘Lowering Of The Brace Shoulder Socket’ and shifting of some weight to the Inside Brace Foot. This directly affects your ‘Swing Plane or Tilt Of The Swing Circle’ or Plane. Aft-Tilt affects your Ball Location. Be aware and sensitive to this physical reality! If you are complacent, ‘Fat – Thin’ will become your nasty tendency and punishment!
Importantly, Aft Tilt will tend to improve Clubhead Path Issues. This means improving ‘Over The Top’, ‘Above Plane’ and ‘Outside-In’. What else will this discipline improve? ‘Ball Flight’.
