MAKE IT A PRIORITY!
Many of us have families and other responsibilities outside of our primary business ventures. Some of us have active passions on the side. Are there enough hours and energy in the day? It is important to set boundaries that give us flexibility where and when needed. Golf is a ‘Home-Run Life-Long Leisure Activity’! Put ‘IT’ to good use!
One of our first priorities must be to our general health! Sleep? Nutrition? Hydration? Exercise for our balanced health and managed stress? Stretch and Strengthen (Range Of Motion – ROM )? If we do not run our lives, they shall run us … into the ground! When health fails it is a gravely abused and lost opportunity, often with no readily available recovery modality!
We must provide ourselves adequate time to rest, especially when under any excessive pressure. Having a ‘Rest & Relaxation Day’ is really not a soft option. Take one regularly! Rest, sound sleep and a day off every week, reduces 1) Stress and anxiety 2) Improves mood 3) Lowers blood pressure, 4) Balances pH and Cellular Harmonics, 5) Reduces chronic pain, 6) Improves auto-immune and health resiliency, 7) Strengthens our cardio-pulmonary system, 8) Helps weight management and 8) Lowers our stress hormone (cortisol). Do you know that ‘Exercise Is Restful’? Walking is a good example! The list goes on! You already have one, right?
Another often overlooked activity is simple, powerful ‘Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing’. (DDB)
Ask yourself, “Am I taking enough time to ‘Feet Up or Lying Down’ with soft music in the background, Rest, Relax, and Recharge?” (The 3 R’s) Do not postpone this activity any farther! Your health is a totally personal responsibility! We may have just ‘One Kick At The Cat’? Loss of wellness is progressive, cumulative and ultimately terminal!
